The Cool Caboose — 1928 AT&SF Railroad Caboose

Step aboard the Cool Caboose: our iconic 1928 Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad caboose, fully restored into a one-of-a-kind vacation rental. Inside, you’ll find a full bath and shower, a partial kitchen, and all the character of a genuine piece of American railroad history.     1930 A.T.&S.F. Caboose

    The newest addition to our railcar collection, our 1930 Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Waycar, has taken a place of pride at the campground entrance, hanging out with our giant T-Rex sculpture. "Waycar" is another word for "caboose", and ours will be wonderful - and seriously cool, with beautiful tile, gorgeous glass block from the Czech Republic, and a custom Murphy bed/couch.     1954 C.B.&Q. Vista-Dome Streamliner

    Our second railcar reimagineering is well underway. 236 dome railcars were built pre-Amtrak, and this will be the first and only in the country to be turned into stationary lodging! This 1954 Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Vista-Dome streamliner lounge/sleeper passenger railcar is being transformed into an extraordinary overnight experience. Pre-Amtrak in its glory days, this iconic car is moving down the track to welcome guests. Stay tuned — the Frontier Zephyr is coming soon!

    1949 EMD F7-A Locomotive

    The most powerful of our railcar collection, our 1949 Electro-Motive Division (of General Motors) F7-A locomotive will soon become only the second locomotive in the country to be turned into stationary lodging. It sits proudly on a platform mound at the very back of the campground, patiently waiting its turn to be reimagined into the coolest locomotive you will ever sleep in, decorated in "Peruvian Steampunk"! Stay tuned for a 2027 opening....
